a perfectly thawed out pond!

*

I realize this photo does not shout “fresh”, but for those of us who have experienced a cold and very drab winter, this picture of a thawed out pond is a welcoming sight.  In my neck of the woods, green has yet to pop its way to the surface unless it is a pine tree.  Also, a thawed out pond means the fountain will be operational soon and this make me very happy.  Oh! Let’s not forget the Great Blue Herons, Sandhill Cranes, egrets, ducks, geese and the leaping fish…they totally dig our pond…

A pond with only water and no ice says “fresh” to me! We’re just getting ice-free here.

Ours is either matted down or sticking up in too-long batches. I’ve done a bit of raking, which helps, but it will need more work.

Your photo made my Heart jump for JOY!!!! Yes! Here too it is thawing out, slow, but still evident. I have pics coming next week that will show the progress and some as well that will have your mouth hanging wide open. I promise you what I am finding defies the imagination! Have a great weekend, Kimberly! Love, Amy

I totally get what you mean about ‘fresh’ being the feeling of not having snow anymore there. Bring on the nature 🙂

The first thing I thought of was “Fresh Air”. And after a month of freezing temperatures week after week, it is definitely a welcome sight.
