a cornucopia of appreciation

Yes, I know – I have been a bit absent – as of late. I can thank my summer ‘life’ for this, a helluva computer issue and a rather testy WP app on my i-phone – but – never fear I am here and ready to get down to business – FINALLY!

In the past few months, I have been gifted with a cornucopia of awards. I have been touched greatly and I feel the deepest of heartfelt appreciation for each and every one I have received.  I would also like to say that I understand and respect all of the bloggers who wish not to be nominated.  For me personally, it provides an opportunity to ‘pay it forward’.  I can express my gratitude, as well as, bring to the spotlight some wonderful writers and artists.  It’s quite simple really – I think all of you are awesome and want others to experience the awesomeness I have been so blessed to experience.  Please know that if I have nominated you, there is no pressure to accept or to acknowledge its receipt.

Five mind-blowing facts about me – sort of:

1.  Sydnee Pee was adopted at 16 weeks from an orphanage.  She was given the name Princess.  We gave her the name Sydnee – you can figure out where the Pee comes from – can you not??

2.  She had her right leg removed prior to us seeing her for the first time.

3.  She tore her tendon which attaches to the hock bone (think human Achilles tendon) – thanks to a squirrel and a backyard covered in icy snow.

4.  She will be 9 years old at the end of the year.

5.  She is very protective of her brothers and myself and her left front paw – aka as The Paw.

1.  Peyton will be turning 16 years old in October.

Five more bits about me – sort of, kind of:

1.  Peyton and I are tinkering with the idea of starting a blog in the fall.

2. Both Peyton and Jordan are mega foodies.  They photograph their food!  (Nothing more interesting than receiving a picture of a burrito or steak on my cell phone).

3.  I let Peyton have the full reign of the kitchen – to do with whatever he wishes (safely, of course).

4.  Peyton has a wide variety in taste, but has a few texture issues.  Example – likes apples – but not as a sauce or in pie or a juice.  Recently, Jordan managed to get him to eat his favorite food – beans – now Peyton has become bean obsessed and Jordan will not stop teasing him about all the years he would refuse to try beans and my house stinks.  (Jordan looks at himself as some sort of god when it comes to his brother.)

5.  Jordan does not cook – he is pretty much lost in the kitchen but he knows how to surf the net for some awesome recipes.  He is our menu planner.

I would like to close this post with a few thoughts.  I love the time I spend on WP.  I have been a bit lost lately without my home computer.  I have missed reading and ‘chatting’.  It is odd that I have never met any of you face to face, yet you are all in my thoughts – I think about what you are up to and how your day/life is coming along.  We do not know each other, yet we do, in some respects, know each other very well.  This is a very unique aspect of WP – wouldn’t you say?
