Weekly Photo Challenge – Early Bird

As always, I take many photos of the pond beside my townhouse. There is a reason for this – my daughter (the very hairy, three-legged one with big ears and a tail). While she is doing her ‘thing’, I am typically staring over yonder and yonder is the pond! The above photo was taken in the latter part of last fall. The sun was rising behind me and the moon was setting in front of me. This particular shot was taken around 6:10am.

the roadside diner
*
right now it lies barren,
not much to attract the eyes
but
to a goose or a Sand Hill crane,
it is a buffet of delectable delights….
*
flocks of families and friends all come to gather
sharing stories and gossip alike ~
such as
“did you hear the scandalous tale about so-and-so and so-and-so?”
or
“anything exciting happen during your long, return flight?”

~ however ~
in only a few weeks,
this field will evolve
into something a bit different
yet
not quite new …
still a tasty place to grab a quick bite
but
with an eclectic decor
and
a whole lots more to chew!!!

Weekly Photo Challenge – Floating
~

I have lots of photographs which reveal moments of floating, whether it be literally or figuratively. I have many photographs of clouds in the sky. I am always taking them – wanting to capture the ‘never to be seen moment again’ moment. The photo I chose for this week takes both the literal and figurative into account, as well as the absurd and sadness which has, unfortunately become a common site in today’s society and our bodies of water.
Jordan took this photo last year, as a result of a class assignment. He snapped a few wide angled shots which revealed more of the area around the bottle and this one, which was used for a film. Water was the assigned topic and I suppose, you can figure out the ‘angle’ in which the film explored this very wet topic. {By the way, the shadows under the water are little fish.}

Weekly Photo Challenge – Blur
*
*

This week’s photo must be attributed to my son – the aspiring film maker and out-of-the-box thinker (takes after mom). Last year, he took a photography class and had access to some very sophisticated (and expensive) film equipment. He took many pictures and many of them have been posted on my blog and featured in other weekly challenges.
The photo above was a complete mistake. Jordan liked the view of the lake and was hoping the guy on the cell phone would move – he did not. He decided to take the photo as is, due to the serenity of the shot and the relationship to the person on the phone. Somehow, someway Jordan took this photograph. Word has it, he got a bit freaked out – thinking he caught a moment where the spirits were passing by….
Lucky for us, he did not scrap the photo!
