a little note: This is quite a wonderful picture – not because Bill and Peyton have a pretzel in their eye and Jordan was trying to hold a pretzel in his eye, failed and looked utterly goofy – no – it is a wonderful photo because #1. Peyton had a grilling fork in his hand and #2. Jordan had the Chicago Tribune movie section in his lap. If there is one thing Bill did that was so very, very special, it was to encourage my boys’ passion – cooking, food and movies. & when the three were together, I could never tell who the grown up was……ever…

Not much else to say really – she mopes till they walk at the door and then there is one more display of pure unmitigated woe – as we pull out of the driveway and she is looking through the blinds…. This I cannot photograph – I am driving and the boys choose not to look. It is a deadly stare – the kind that can drive a knife into your chest – make you feel like the worst mom and/or brothers in the whole world.

An after blurb: The boys’ beds were built into a loft at the old house. Right now, the beds are mattresses on the floor, until I can purchase new frames – but the boys are digging being low after being 6 feet in the sky – and someone else seems to enjoy being low, as well.
