kisses from mimz
I keep tossing kisses into the wind ~
in hopes they reach their intended target ~ ~
landing softly upon
the precious cheeks
I have kissed
since
day
one…
…no boundaries…
each time I look into their eyes,
I fall deeper in love ~ ~
as if I could love them
even more
than I already do…..
but
I always do.
both ~ away ~
.
one is across the country,
the other ~ across an ocean
and
I am in the center waiting ~
.
neither
here or there ~
.
just
waiting ~
.
waiting for this ~ profound
loneliness
to
float
away ~
.
.
.

his smile brings
more warmth and light
to my heart
than
even
the most perfect sunshiny day ~

a little reminder
‘
when it is dark
and
you are afraid,
close your eyes
and
listen with your heart
to
a familiar rhythm in the distance ~ ~
it led you into this world
and
it will be with you ~ always ~

onward young man…
…
many miles ahead…
dreams waiting to be embraced…
grab the wheel and drive…

An update on my son who resembles a yeti:
The ‘guy’ and two gals have been hanging out in CO…hiking, site seeing, exploring the Rocky Mountains, Boulder, Denver, Four Corners, Flagstaff…tomorrow they will be driving to the City of Angels.
…
listen….
“
with open arms
they stand ~ waiting
to embrace
your passion
and
your vision.
“
I can hear their voices
whispering… from afar…
“
can you hear them?
“
your dreams are speaking…..

Note: Jordan left for the West Coast yesterday… with a car full of stuff and two friends. Their final destination is Los Angeles, however, they are stopping along the way to hike in Colorado – Rocky Mountain National Park. Jordan will be living and working in LA. He was accepted into the AFI’s (American Film Institute) Summer Internship Program, which will begin June 15th. Until then, he has a job – working as an assistant on a film set. (The director is an alumnus of Jordan’s school.) & one more thing… since he will be an AFI intern, he will working on this year’s “AFI Lifetime Achievement Award” program which will be nationally televised in June. Apparently some dude by the name of Steve Martin is the honoree!! Geez the kid might as well be attending/working the Academy Awards!! To quote my son ~ “Mom, they are renting me a tux!”

The above photo was taken in January before Jordan returned to school from winter break. He misses her greatly and I wish – sometimes – I could ship her down state to the University. Picture a big crate with air holes and wrapped in caution tape – “Beware of Deadly Beast”.
Next week (in 7 days – yes, I am counting) he leaves for Los Angeles (in a car, with two other people – girls). I have been trying to figure out how to squeeze her in a suitcase…

It was a typical COLD May morning in the NW ‘burbs of Chicago – complete with wind and rain. As always, the 8th grade boys ran their relays last – and this was the sectional tournament, thus many schools, many teams and many hours spent in the rain, in the wind – in the friggin’ cold. The young man above is my son and he was coming in hard… I was not certain if I could catch a photo of the wind but I did!! I wish I had a different camera, other than my i-phone (this photo was shot in 2012), however, it doesn’t really matter. Peyton loves this picture. His words were:
“Wow! I am airborne! Cool shot Mimz!”
