yes,
i know i have y’all hangin’ ~
wonderin’ what was IT ~
what could IT have been…
…
after hours (actually 15 minutes) of debate and spreadsheets,
calculations and picking mom’s brain,
it seems it was an extra-large with two toppings ~
spicy Italian sausage
and
green peppers
…
…
there was,
however,
a mystery…
a mystery still weighing heavily on my son’s mind…
a mystery sauce
with
origins unknown…
…
oh dear,
i can only hope and pray it was tossed!

ps: PLEASE – I BEG YOU – Pretend you did not see a certain nickname…PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE!
to or not to…
?
?
to order a large
with
two toppings
or
to order two mediums
with
one topping
….these are questions which beg to be answered….
?
?
in which
mom replied
“good luck with that pnut!”
?
?
?
same two words….
¿
every year
i ask the same two questions,
and
every year
the answers never change.
for the first i ask
“How was your day”
and
with one word
the answer is…….
“BORING”
¿
the next one is simple –
“So, what did you do”
and
i would expect a little more explanation
BUT
he never strays from his usual response
and
with a tired sigh
he says……
“NOTHING”
¿
SO,
you can imagine my surprise,
on the first day of school
when my typical inquiries were made ~
a total of five words
popped out of his mouth ~
i was stunned,
i was shocked,
i was amazed!
¿
i just about back ended the car in front,
and
thought I was going to faint ~
when the words
“NOT BAD”
&
“SOME INTERESTING STUFF”
spilled from his mouth,
via
his 16 (almost 17) year old brain!
¿
i have nothing more to add to this piece
because i am still in a state of shock,
so
i will say
THANK YOU for reading,
i must get back to work now
i am being bad ~
why
because
i am still on the clock!!!

Well today is the day – the film is complete and being submitted this morning and then it is placed into the hands of the faculty. He is a very tired young man and he is swamped with work. (After all, he is in college – a double major of, not just film, but business.) His school year is winding down… he will be home next weekend…then he gets his wisdom teeth pulled!
I must say, I am liking the editing beard. I told him that his face is now hairier than Pee’s! I wonder what she will think?

an ode to an editing beard

my son –
what is it?
what is it i see?
˜
oh mom –
it is my editing beard
my editing beard you see
˜
my son –
tell me why?
tell me how it came to be?
˜
oh mom –
i am so busy
i haven’t shaved in two weeks
˜
my son –
what have you been doing?
what has kept you so very busy?
˜
oh mom –
it is all the filming and editing
it has become life itself – it is my movie!
˜
my son –
i am so proud,
so very proud to be…
the mom of a man with an editing beard
the editing beard i see!

– this is truly THE moment –
THE FIRST TIME EVER
behind the wheel of a car!

The first football game of the season – walking to the stadium. Peyton’s debut in the SHS Marching Band. Needless to say, he was nervous and not all too happy that his mom was walking right behind him trying to take a picture 🙂

I really could not choose one photo – I love these both. For me they signify “a point of entering” – there was excitement, nerves, anticipation and, yes, there was a lot of hard work being part of a marching band of over 300 teenagers!

Yes, a complete set and with Sydnee Pee a balance has been achieved. Much laughing, cooking, eating and ‘cleaning’ to be had with lots of tum tum, walkies and cuddles. Life is good.
