never seen in the light of day,
only in the dark of night
always quietly flitting about ~ ~ ~
tiny golden flickers of light

a morning walk

when i look through a blue lens,
i see a vast and majestic sky taunting me with visions of marshmallow pie
~
when i look through a green lens,
i see spears of grass reaching toward piney ballerinas poised in emerald tutus adorned with crunchy, chocolatey cones
~
when i look through a yellow lens,
i see bees buzzing amongst roaring lions in a jungle of clover and crawling crabs
~
when i look through an orange lens,
i see day lilies dancing to concertos of tweet tweets and cheeps cheeps, twirling and waltzing in the whooshes of a breeze
~
when i look through a purple lens,
i see carpets of violets, branches of lavender and drapes of wisteria fluttering in the wind
~
when i look through a red lens,
i see Her Majesty, the Rose Queen, holding court patiently while sitting on her throne of dazzling rubies and prickly thorns
~
when i look through a pink lens,
i see trails of petunias cascading playfully amidst prancing squirrels and hippity hoppity hares
~
when I look through life’s kaleidoscope
at
ALL
that surrounds me,
i get lost
in a reverie of splendor
on
a midsummer’s day…

may the sunbeams dance
upon your golden hair
and
your senses rejoice amongst
the wafting summer air ~

frenzy of flying insects
enticed by summer’s moisture
unsuspecting halos buzzing overhead
a bountiful bug buffet

definition of a whatfly (according to me):
any flying insect
