Weekly Photo Challenge – Motion

It was a typical COLD May morning in the NW ‘burbs of Chicago – complete with wind and rain. As always, the 8th grade boys ran their relays last – and this was the sectional tournament, thus many schools, many teams and many hours spent in the rain, in the wind – in the friggin’ cold. The young man above is my son and he was coming in hard… I was not certain if I could catch a photo of the wind but I did!! I wish I had a different camera, other than my i-phone (this photo was shot in 2012), however, it doesn’t really matter. Peyton loves this picture. His words were:
“Wow! I am airborne! Cool shot Mimz!”

Weekly Photo Challenge – Early Bird

As always, I take many photos of the pond beside my townhouse. There is a reason for this – my daughter (the very hairy, three-legged one with big ears and a tail). While she is doing her ‘thing’, I am typically staring over yonder and yonder is the pond! The above photo was taken in the latter part of last fall. The sun was rising behind me and the moon was setting in front of me. This particular shot was taken around 6:10am.

Weekly Photo Challenge – Floating

I have lots of photographs which reveal moments of floating, whether it be literally or figuratively. I have many photographs of clouds in the sky. I am always taking them – wanting to capture the ‘never to be seen moment again’ moment. The photo I chose for this week takes both the literal and figurative into account, as well as the absurd and sadness which has, unfortunately become a common site in today’s society and our bodies of water.
Jordan took this photo last year, as a result of a class assignment. He snapped a few wide angled shots which revealed more of the area around the bottle and this one, which was used for a film. Water was the assigned topic and I suppose, you can figure out the ‘angle’ in which the film explored this very wet topic. {By the way, the shadows under the water are little fish.}
