pre-run prep…
each giggle begets
an indelible memory
that brightens my spirit
and
warms my heart…

~ trailblazing ~
watery eyes,
runny nose,
freezing fingers,
burning toes ~
poles in hand,
laces secured,
ratchets tight,
crunching……. sounds…… underfoot ~ ~ ~
such a wonderful time ~ ~ walking in the snow ~ ~
with trails ahead
and
a smile in tow!
……… just purchased a pair of snowshoes – so much fun!!!
sunrise in the ‘shire
a view from the deck
pines swaddled in white ~ ~ ~ asleep
on the edge of morn ~ ~ ~ envision
the beauty …………………………………. of a seeping sunrise.
frik and frak
they scurry about ~ ~ ~ running this way and that ~ ~ ~ up one limb ~ ~ down another ~ ~ jumping from one tree to the next... they jostle, they squib and suddenly pause for a wink, then back at it again.... and again.... and again....
**We have a pair of these little guys (could be girls, or one of each)…..always together and always enjoying our trees and roof and deck…. I tried to get a photo of both but they are too, too quick. We have named them Frik and Frak. The one in the photo is Frak – I think… or could be Frik………

muddled thoughts

fog hovers overhead
like
doubt casts a shadow
within one’s mind ~
allowing fear to rule with an upper hand.
*
only
daylight from above
and
the light of courage from within
can slay
the haze
of
uncertainty

a morning walk
ϒ
when i look through a blue lens,
i see a vast and majestic sky taunting me with visions of marshmallow pie
~
when i look through a green lens,
i see spears of grass reaching toward piney ballerinas poised in emerald tutus adorned with crunchy, chocolatey cones
~
when i look through a yellow lens,
i see bees buzzing amongst roaring lions in a jungle of clover and crawling crabs
~
when i look through an orange lens,
i see day lilies dancing to concertos of tweet tweets and cheeps cheeps, twirling and waltzing in the whooshes of a breeze
~
when i look through a purple lens,
i see carpets of violets, branches of lavender and drapes of wisteria fluttering in the wind
~
when i look through a red lens,
i see Her Majesty, the Rose Queen, holding court patiently while sitting on her throne of dazzling rubies and prickly thorns
~
when i look through a pink lens,
i see trails of petunias cascading playfully amidst prancing squirrels and hippity hoppity hares
~
when I look through life’s kaleidoscope
at
ALL
that surrounds me,
i get lost
in a reverie of splendor
on
a midsummer’s day…
