trails ~ ~ ~

~

day after day,

i have been living my life

wandering

aimlessly

along musty trails ~

stumbling one step at a time,

dodging demons of fear

and

monsters from my past.

~

i haven’t truly cared

which way

these paths would lead

or

if i got lost along the way,

my only thought has been for my little men

and

for their hopes and dreams to come true someday.

~

i still wander about these musty trails,

dodging my demons

and

monsters

~ however ~

i recently discovered a part of myself,

i thought had died many years ago…

~

~

~

these trails, though musty, are still my life ~

what matters

is the life

i breathe

and

with a loving heart walking by my side

i can stumble

and

feel safe

being

me

~

a foggy, hazy morning

a hazy morning along the Des Plaines River Trail – a peaceful place for me

amazing

§

it is truly amazing how one soul can save another

with

only a few words

and

a caring heart ~

breathing life

into

a world which had fallen behind ~ ~

an existence

with no desire to move forward

or

wishing

simply

~ only ~

to

die.

where

once there was fog,

droning about…

sizzle

with

luminous

delight!

If – a story

~

IF I could return to this world

long after I have gone,

I would return as a bird ~

as a majestic, white swan.

~

I would settle on a lake,

way beyond the beaten path ~

far away from the chaos

and

the noise of life’s wrath.

~

I would spend my days gracefully,

gliding along ~~~

to the rhythm of nature’s symphonies

occasionally honking a song.

~

I may find another ~

a soul mate, a partner

to create beautiful choreography ~

a pas de deux on the water

~

as our ballet transitions

from Act I to Act II,

little grey cygnets will be born,

maybe one,

possibly a few.

~

the little one’s will follow ~ ~ ~

single file one-by-one ~ ~ ~

our corps de ballet will be complete ~ ~ ~

waltzing around the lake

under the sun.

~

there will come a day

when their plumes of white will emerge,

our cast of soloists will take flight

making their way into the world

~

meanwhile,

my partner and I will stay quietly behind ~

gracefully

gliding side~by~side

in

our

ballet of life.

Weekly Photo Challenge: Threshold

behind the wheel

September 2013

  – this is truly THE moment –

THE FIRST TIME EVER

behind the wheel of a car!

band boy

September 2012

The first football game of the season – walking to the stadium.  Peyton’s debut in the SHS Marching Band.  Needless to say, he was nervous and not all too happy that his mom was walking right behind him trying to take a picture 🙂

***

I really could not choose one photo – I love these both.  For me they signify “a point of entering” – there was excitement, nerves, anticipation and, yes, there was a lot of hard work being part of a marching band of over 300 teenagers!
