Monday in Paris #3

the lights of Paris have embraced my mind
and
inspired my thoughts ~
reigniting dreams
from
a childhood…… long passed……
sidelines
I miss the sidelines of yesteryear ~
when time and space existed in unison ~
as each moment unfolded
and
our dreams embraced.
Now,
the passage of time and distance have altered these lines.
You have taken flight
~ chasing angels ~
whose beacons flash the promises of dreams.
&
I stand here
~ quietly ~
as my patience longingly awaits
~ words ~
to scroll……. across……. a……. screen…….
i can still wish…
*
three years without you has been an adventure ~
a never-ending roller coaster of life ~ ~
where the valleys have out numbered the peaks.
i still miss you everyday
and
hear your voice and laughter
and
wish you would return,
though
i know you cannot make the journey
but
still… a girl can wish upon stars and shiny pennies… can she not?
*
maybe one day,
you will drop by and pay us a little visit ~
hang out like we used to….
we can take in a movie
and
eat all of our favorite naughty foods
or
go cruising in Starla and camping in the Vee.
i know the boys would be all for it
and
Sydnee Pee would certainly not object,
though you may have to fight for a spot on her couch.
yes,
you heard me correctly – ‘her’ couch.
*
a girl can still wish
and
i will keep on wishing
and
i will – we will – continue loving you.
i can assure you of this ~
forever.

Happy 20th Pnut!
~
I am in shock
&
in awe
&
in a state of disbelief
&
I am amazed
how
20 years
could fly by
on a breeze
~
~
Actually Jordan is jumping!!! Not certain if there is a breeze but, yes he is really jumping and this photo, believe it or not, was neither tweaked, photo shopped or anything of the like! (Honestly, I asked.) It seemed Jordan kept jumping like a jack-in-the-box and Peyton took rapid shots with his i-phone and this is the ‘highest point’ picture!
~
excavating
~
digging through old boxes
discovering priceless treasures aplenty
resurrecting a distant past
I am alive again

true love
…
20 years of life
~
of dreams
fulfilled
~ now ~
undying
memories
…
of a true love,
which will never fade…ever…

The Nutcracker Act II – The Finale

The photo above was taken from a special souvenir photo book which was created for the 1981 Nutcracker Season. After spending my Sunday afternoon digging through boxes, I found this gem amongst many, many other treasures. This photo was taken in 1979.

I hope you have enjoyed my series of pieces inspired by The Nutcracker Ballet. As a child, the holidays were The Nutcracker. As an adult, they are very special memories – ones which I will never, ever forget. Just ask my boys….they hear the same stories year after year, after year, after year…..and it looks like y’all will be suffering the same fate!
