two tank(a) full of lions
splash of golden hues
standing very poised and proud
an army of kings
dressed in a full regalia
a silent growl under foot

ps: I was walking Sydnee Pee yesterday and took notice of the dandelions. They were huge – simply huge. As I stared at the petals, it occurred to me they really do look like lions with their golden color and a full rosette of petals resembling the King of the Jungle’s mane. Okay, before I continue describing my totally fascinating Eureka moment, let me just add that my mind was taking a timeout from the over thinking and under thinking thing, which in turn became over thinking, which in this case was a ‘okay cool sort-of-thing’ because I gained some knowledge on a subject I was lacking and have in turn, acquired a greater appreciation for a ‘thing’ I would have otherwise not really thought about or considered. Humph (sigh) – did you get all of that?
So, in analyzing the dandelion and the King of the Jungle connection, I began to see more connections such as kings, kingdoms, armies, jungles as kingdoms, plants in jungles, power of kings, a king’s power protecting their kingdom, their power – their strength – the strength of the hearty dandelion, living in the natural kingdom, it’s ability to persevere in the elements – both natural and man-made and it’s fear factor. Fear factor you say? Yes – many a dollar is spent yearly on waging a war against this tiny little beast – so yes, man is afraid, well, kind of, sort of 🙂
On a serious note, I did feel compelled to Wiki the cute little dandelion and discovered a wealth of information about a flower that most people see as nothing but a worthless weed. I discovered its power – how it benefits nature with its presence as a biological source of pollination and companionship for the growth of other plants, medicinal properties, and culinary delights for both humans, some bird species and insects. It’s power also lies in its destructive nature – invading crops and it’s ability to frustrate many a lawn caretaker/property owner.
So, I would like to tip my hat, hold up my goblet of dandelion wine and make a toast to the tiny little jungle flower lion king – Go forth – do what you do and mind not those who cannot see your true value – there is more to you than meets the eye – my sweet little yellow dandelion – cheers!
