saturday stare #11

“Did you say walkie?”

As one can see, Issi is looking a bit hairier than usual (careful choice of word, so as not to insult the little lady). It has been a long winter, a big thaw, melt and now we are getting lots of rain….which means mud, mud, mud and more mud. White and mud mixed with rain and dirt = a grayish hue of hairy beauty. Plus, an extra thick winter coat and a few extra under coats = a plumper ball of pooch. What does this all mean? A trip to the stylist…..this Monday!!!!

*on a personal note: Isabelle’s mom was out of town for a week and then returned to a very hectic office. Her time here has been very limited to almost non-existent. Isabelle will make certain that mommy posts her words and pictures and, of course, log her stares.

saturday stare #9

blue eyes stare straight on

prepared to see and be seen

so doggedly………..cute

*a note from Issi’s biographer: the second line of the haiku is interchangeable with the following options:

her tumtum yearns for chow chow

the daily vroom vroom awaits

ready for a special treat

dressed to impress the boyfriends

frik and frak

they scurry about ~ ~ ~

running this way and that ~ ~ ~

up one limb ~ ~

down another ~ ~

jumping from one tree to the next...

they jostle,

they squib

suddenly pause for a wink,

then back at it again....   and again....   and again....

**We have a pair of these little guys (could be girls, or one of each)…..always together and always enjoying our trees and roof and deck….  I tried to get a photo of both but they are too, too quick.  We have named them Frik and Frak.  The one in the photo is Frak – I think… or could be Frik………

Spring, 2014

As I was cleaning out my phone, I came across a photo taken in the Spring.  Yes, same chair.  Yes, same carpet.  Yes, same spot, but – NO not the same tissue.  So, what does this all mean?

It means all of Sydnee Pee’s fans have been brainwashed!  You have been taken in by the charms of Ms. Sydnee Pee and her really big brown eyes!

A little FYI:  I have it on the highest authority that the Van Morrison song Brown Eyed Girl was written about Sydnee Pee.  My credible source?  A one-armed hairy lady on the street with a deep voice, rather long nose with very long whiskers, a bit of a limp and humph……… now that I think back on it – – Oh No – –  she may have been hiding what looked to be maybe a tail under her dress – –

Uh Oh!

Gosh darnit!

time to go

dragons, alligators and pterodactyls – Oh My!

all is quiet on the kingdom front ∼

a nice breeze, cool air

enjoying a relaxing flight…

all is quiet in the swamp tonight ∼

enjoying a refreshing dip…

maybe catch a midnight snack?

all is quiet amongst the Jurassic land below ∼

winging it about the clouds…

are those naughty T-Rex’s up to no good again?

I cannot decide – What do you think?

Weekly Pet Challenge – Pee on the road

On the road again….

“mommy gets us here early…all the time…she is too punctual…”

“the setting sun is in my eyes…i am checking out the view from behind…”

is he there

“so many people coming and going…”

“wake me up when he gets here…”

Sydnee Pee is logging some serious vroom vroom miles.  She enjoys watching people and the occasional animal along our route – horses (big puppy doggies), deer (deer puppy doggies) and the sea gulls (birdy puppy doggies) that like to hang out in the parking lot.

The best part of the trip is when Peyton gets in the car.  He smells like meat!  (hot dogs, hamburgers, Italian Beef…)

a hairy tune

white whisker,

white whisker,

why are you here?

sitting on the face

of a puppy i hold most dear?

white whisker,

white whisker,

why are you here?

can’t you see this is my girl

a long,

white whisker,

white whisker,

why are you here?

because you have never stopped by before

in all her earlier years?

white whisker,

white whisker,

i will say you can stay –

Syd does not seem to mind

if you hang out another day!

only one white whisker has sprouted…

ps:  The above was written to the tune “Matchmaker, Matchmaker” from the musical Fiddler on the Roof.  I contemplated singing it, but, well, I do not wish to be responsible for crashing WordPress!
