My Special Guest Poet: Poetry by Pamela
A few words – I am very proud to present Pamela Beckford as my First Special Guest Poet. I can remember the first poem she posted on her blog ‘Poetry By Pamela’, which she began this past August. Since this time, it has been a true pleasure to watch her writing evolve and grow into poetry which stretches the boundaries of many different thoughts and emotions. Please join me in supporting this lovely and talented poet, with whom I am proud to call my friend.
Thank You Pamela.

To Imagine
Good afternoon bloggerbuds-
A few months back, I was gifted The Imagination Award from one of my favorite writers –
Richard of http://richardankerswrites.wordpress.com/
“The Imagine Award” is an award that was created by Jenn Mulherin (who is the writer of the blog “My Fibrotastic Life!”) in October of 2013. This award was made in order to recognize the bloggers who express their passion and dedication towards their blogs through their creativity.
The Imagine Award
The criterium for The Imagine Award is as follows:
1. Copy and paste The Imagine Award into your post.
2. Thank the blogger who nominated you and link their blog page to your post.
3. List 3-5 things about the nominator’s blog that you like (which you think are very creative).
4. Nominate 5 other bloggers/blogs which you think display a fantastic use of creativity and imagination.
5. Notify your nominees.
6. Display The Imagine Award to your blog’s award page.
I am extremely honored to have been given this special award from such a talented writer. Richard possesses an incredible ability to mold words into the most beautiful pieces of poetry. Sometimes his poetry goes beyond that of the written word – he can bring to life a vision, a song, a dream, a picture, an experience. His elegance as a writer is astounding and he brings a level of sophistication to WordPress. I was enticed by his talents from the very first time I laid eyes on his blog. I was hooked then and continue to be inspired by his creative imagination – now.
There are so many writers in the blogosphere who write with a passion and a level of imagination that never ceases to amaze me. Whether they are writing a piece of poetry or a thought about something in life, I am constantly being inspired – not just as a writer, but also as a person. Here they are…….
1. My friend Dom at http://blackandwrite.wordpress.com/
2. My friend Skye at http://thesanctuaryofmyheart.com/
3. My friend Hasty at http://hastywords.wordpress.com/
4. My friend Michelle Marie at http://michellemarieantellg.wordpress.com/
5. My friend Patty at http://petitemagique.wordpress.com/
The above is the tippy, tippy top of my list – it can go on and on and on……so please, visit these incredibly imaginative and beautiful souls. You will be inspired, I promise.
Until we meet again, I wish all of you
Happy Reading, Happy Writing and Happy Day

the words i write
˜
words on a page
come to life in my mind
formulated by experiences –
little fragments in time

but

it’s the feelings and emotions
sustained by the heart
which bring the ‘essence’ –
their soul to life.

I would like to end this post by following the criteria of The Best Moment Award –
I have experienced so many wonderful moments. Yes, there are the biggies such as every moment with my children, dancing on stage, finishing an Ironman, graduating college, …….. BUT the best moments are the ones which can be the smallest – a smile from someone running past me on the trail, watching the birds nosh from the bird feeder, having a cake bake just right, to name just a few… Yes, all silly things, but they add up. At the end of the day they contribute to a feeling of hope. I would also like to say that my time spent on WordPress has been filled with so many ‘best moments’. The feeling of accomplishment when a piece is complete and the publish icon is clicked. Each comment that is made and reading the work of writers who have become my friends and finding new writers to enjoy and appreciate. All wonderful ‘best moments’!
To the award nominees, please know that you are under no obligation to accept these awards. Some have specific criterium, and if you would like to get this information, please drop me a line – I will send it right over. The badges are yours to copy and to place on your own blogs. If I have given an award to someone who does not accept awards, I understand and I apologize for not getting the memo:) Let me know, and it will be duly noted. I have stated this before – I enjoy giving awards, because it is a way for me to show my appreciation for what you do and to share your blog with others who may not have found you – yet.
So, this concludes the mother of all thank you awards post. I would like to end with one more BIG THANK YOU to say PLEASE keep doing what you do because you are all awesome!
Till the next time we meet – Happy Reading, Happy Writing, Happy Day!

clouds or …
ζ
I look up and see fluff
floating around in the sky
such as
sweet marshmallow topping
on chocolate creme pie.
ζ
there are soft pillows of cotton
to embrace my dreams
and
a poofy down duvet
to cozy up my sleep.
ζ
in the morning i see a frothy dollop
of au lait on my cafe
while
swatting a brain full of gossamers – – – – –
keep them from clouding my day.
ζ
as the hours drift along
i look up and see more –
lots of creatures, faces
and yummy treats galore.
ζ
did i mention the mountains
snow-capped in whipped cream
and
many balls of cotton candy
breezing about –
i have seen?
ζ
oh yes, they are all there
and you can see them, too –
just
open your eyes
and
quite simply
– – – –
enjoy the view.

illusions
˜
pinks and blues light up the sky
as the sun slowly sets
while
chorales of feathered beings
are quietly
being tucked away in their nests.
˜
life all around begins to retreat –
it’s the end of another day.
one by one bodies set off to sleep
and
dreams come out to play.
˜
the visions which creep out to taunt one’s mind
in the middle of the night,
can be darkness rising up from hell –
its mission –
to torture
with all of its might.
˜
however,
not all illusions floating about
derive from one’s tainted soul.
there are moments emblazoned
with beauty so serene
and
lumina of light shining bright as gold.
˜
before one is aware, the night has passed –
the sun is about to rise.
another day is dawning –
bodies begin moving
and
the birds
take
off
in
flight.
