conjure

*

i can conjure a perfect plate of lies ~

serve

all you wish to read.

some may hold the truth

and

some will be false

but

all

will be

what

you

desire

or

need

for long…never

ς

we all lose our voice

from time to time,

just as clouds at night

can block the gleam of a distant light

but

always

in time,

the clouds will float away ~

and

so

our words will return

to see

the light of day.

the muse

~

~

the scent of Chanel still lingers,

though her pulse is no longer felt

she has left him in the darkness ~

robbing him of his capacity to create.

~

as he sits quietly on his stool

staring at nothing but his hands,

he tries desperately

to remember

the first moment she captured his mind…

~

it was so many years ago

when she opened the door ~

each curve captured his imagination,

gave him a purpose,

fueled his drive

~

but

~

now

she is gone for eternity,

time has robbed him

of his life ~

two hands forever empty,

his passion

no longer alive.

the master

the canvas stares at it’s intended victim –

enticing and teasing.

challenging his mind

and

taunting his skill.

there is a constant query

between

the mind’s eye and the stroke –

what desire has envisioned

and

the brushes will allow.

the artist can imagine

a world no other being can perceive.

only they can bring to life

what is conjured deep inside –

molding figments into substance

is a challenge

and

an ache –

like a hunger which must be fed

in which to breathe,

in which to live.

once complete,

the opus exposes

a tiny slice of the artist’s soul –

taking on a life no longer tethered

to the master’s hand

or

his world –

within

in the end

a treasure is created

but

the hunger

must be fed,

whereupon the artist

becomes a slave

to his next

desire

&

his

unyielding

craft

Can you see them?

*

I look up in the sky and I can see them…

*

they flit about & float around,

soar through the clouds

or

quietly hover overhead.

*

some are bright & flamboyant

and

some could use a little polish

or

a splash of color.

*

there are the really, really big ones –

the very teeny, tiny ones

and

there are many middle-of-the-road ones.

*
there are lots of practical ones,

totally rockin’ cool ones

and

the way, way beyond unusual ones.

*

some are new to this world

and

some have been in existence for centuries.

*

no one knows where they come from

and

no one knows where they are going.

*

What is known is this –

*

they are what they are

and

they do what they do

and

it the responsibility of the thinkers and dreamers

to

keep them alive…

*

I can see them – CAN YOU?

words from “excited editing”

¤

From the words of Jordan…

Sunday, 1:30am

¤

“STARTING to wrap up a late night of editing…

¤

you may think me crazy

with this mad look in my eye,

hair all disheveled because of earphones

and

unshaven for weeks.

¤

i will admit i have these moments –

as i edit my work,

where

i spin around in my chair –

sometimes

stare into space to collect my thoughts.

¤

i may start to cry

but

they are tears of joy

for

i am finally seeing a film come together.

¤

I have a rough cut now –

of about 1/3 of my film

and

when i look at it

i get goosebumps.

¤

i will finish on monday,

after making credits

and

color corrections

but

until i am done,

it is just me

and

my computer.

¤

have a good day tomorrow

or

i suppose it’s already TODAY!”

movie update – action!

I need you to do this

and

think that

then

say this

and

stand here.

No –

go there,

look this way…

No –

look that way –

HOLD

ACTION!

directing….right before calling action!

Updates from the set:

I woke up this morning to a sweet surprise from my son – an action shot of my boy directing a movie!

One more tidbit – Apparently he has not shaved in 2 weeks – he has named ‘it’ an editing beard.  Humph, he promises a selfie ……..

I just gotta see this …
