Madness of the Big Dance…..

March 19, 2015 at 12:56 pm 14 comments

tis the time of year where madness rules –
when a ball and net turn some into fools.
where a seed is not a plant,
a bracket rules the office
and
a grown man (or woman) cry
because their favorite team is offed.
there are kids of all ages wearing their fave team jersey
and
alumni digging in closets for old college mementos ~
then
there are school pennants flying high – on public display
along
with echos of fight songs being prepared for game day.
the whole process is quite sophisticated,
beginning with a group of 64
then
whittled down
to a Sweet 16,
Elite 8
and
The Final 4.
by the time the Big Championship game arrives,
almost 3 weeks will have passed…
when all is done,
the trophy is won – what’s next???

Major League Baseball will have just BEGUN!
Peyton is home tonight…through the weekend.
One guess where he will be camping in front of…..

🙂 (believe it or not – and this is hilarious in a strange sort of way – my exhusband is one of those MM people who follows it and watches it every year. he insisted that the birth of our children not interfere with the tournament – YES – we planned on getting pregnant around the scheduling of the NCAA Tournament! I am not kidding. #1 was born in January and #2 was born in October. Yikes!

Hah!!! Last night, Peyton was dancing. The game he was watching went into overtime and of course it was my alma mater that was fighting for the win;). Peyton was yelling at the team…..like they can hear him? It was funny. And he was texting Jordan and Jordan was texting him and his dad was texting them both. Both their dad and I went to U of Cincy. Bearcats won a nail biter against Purdue. However, I am not certain they will advance after the next round – they play the winner of the UK Wildcats game and well, UK is undefeated and faved to go all the way…… One never knows…..upsets do happen during MM!

sounds like my house when the Denver Broncos are playing. My little Nieces are fans and have their own cheerleading outfits and pom poms. They are also very advanced for their ages, being around Adults all the time since birth. We have never talked to them like babies or children. They’ve been different since birth. Sis/their Mom and her husband were child prodigies and in college at 14 and 16. Sisters are all Alabama football fans, I cheer for Auburn just for grins and giggles.
Other sports, besides Football and Soccer are just time fillers for Uncle George/Opa

so cute:) I was telling someone that the birth of my two boys was planned around the NCAA tournament, thus there would be no interference – i mean heaven forbid i was to go into labor during a game……. Yes, my ex was and still is a NCAA Tournament nut and he passed those genes on to our boys:) It’s cuter on them though!

When I lived in Germany, I had friends who felt the same way about Soccer teams, absolutely crazy. My kids accompanied me many times to games I played and later when I became baseball and softball umpire( they learned many lessons on ignoring the rabble rousers and Trolls) But learned also a few lessons on constructive heckling, too.

I agree, I’m not sure I want them wearing those outfits when they are 30, not matter how cute they are now))))))))))))))))))))))))
