Kindred Words

there are times when i look down

when i could see smooth as silk, unblemished, untarnished ~ ~ skin

there are times when I see anger,

hatred and pain ~ ~

moments of darkness marked by a blade…

a blade wielded by my own two hands.

most of the time,

i can see beyond the scars

of what was then

what has become ‘now’ ~ ~

overcoming the sting, the blood, the tears

each a stepping stone toward strength

the will to live.

i am not always confident or

certain of my resolve ~ ~

these days

I am unsettled…

~ ~ ~

Merci Beaucoup Caroline Juliette for your inspiration.

Thank you. I have to say, this is the most personal piece I have written – because of the subject matter and saying it out loud, in words, on a blog…. Again, thank you for your kind words. They are so very, very appreciated.

I know what you mean. It’s a big deal to say it aloud- to an audience. You wrote it beautifully and real- making it that much more profound. Thank you for being brave and being here. How did your interviews go? 💜💜

They are coming along. I have another next week – a call back, which I hope means a good thing. 😘
