each awaits a turn

words spoken from long ago

one spark feeds a flame

a graceful glow fills the room

remembering miracles

This is nice… although fond and having a huge respect for the orthodox (right?) Jews, I’ve not known intimately in this lifetime one who practices.
It seems so special of a time.
    Lots of ceremonial reverie.

Thank you so much for your comment. I am not orthodox – more like reformed, if that. I grew up in a mixed house. I love lighting the menorah candles because it reminds me of my mom. she loved lighting the Hanukkah candles and saying the prayers. She could recite them from memory and i could see how wonderful this made her feel.
