The ‘Land of Snow’ – a lovely scene in which the first of two pas de deux are performed and concludes with the Waltz of the Snowflakes. I enjoyed being a snowflake, especially when the ‘snow’ began to fall from the overhead scrim! (I did, however, offer many prayers to the ballet and theatre gods in hopes of not slipping on the snow. Yes, fake snow is still slippery… especially when wearing pointe shoes.)

nutNutcracker – 1980

10 years of my life was spent in the land of The Nutcracker.  I cannot listen to the music without feeling or seeing the choreography and, yes, becoming very emotional.  For those of you familiar with the story (there are many interpretations), I am ‘choreographing’ poetry which aligns with the production I am quite intimate with – I hope you enjoy reading these little performances as much as I am ‘re-living’ them.
