Der Nussknacker

Last year I wrote a series of pieces based on The Nutcracker Ballet. Many of them feature nutcrackers from my collection, as well as, other memorabilia from my years of dancing in this very special ballet. I hope you do not mind the reblogs – but I figure for many of us, The Nutcracker is a holiday tradition. Whether we dance it, watch it, listen to the music or decorate our abodes with nutcracker soldiers – it is a part of this time of year. Enjoy!

All of my Nutcrackers are handmade in Germany – how someone can craft by hand a little itty bitty one astounds me.  These Nutcrackers arrived via my mom’s friend who brought them back from a trip to Germany.
