The trunk of this tree reminds me of a long, gracefully flowing train on a formal ball gown – like a lady waiting for her escort to gracefully sweep her across the dance floor…and waltz the night away…

I make up words all of the time (it’s the out of the box, off the path thing, I think) and I say it is an awesome word:)

You are so very welcome kind sir…(you must imagine me doing a slow curtsy and bowing my head – with respect and trying to hide a blush smile)

Thanks. I love the ridges and the way the light reflects off of them.

I agree. The stories those trees could tell. I grabbed at different types of wood for texture this week

It does. If this was a Disney film, the tree would come to life and start dancing!

It’s funny. You see tree trunks as the skirt of the dress, while I see the opposite.
trees
so upside down
arms that should reach for the skies
instead
reaching into the ground
ancient
browned
clutching for support
digging
deeply
the ruffled skirt
instead of reaching to the ground
stretching high
into the sky
rustling green chiffons
in the breeze
