playing dress up

i slip it on,

zip it up

step into my heels

i add some pearls

links of gold ~

i am dressed to meet the world

a brush of gray,

a dab of pink

stroke of midnight blue,

i draw a smile upon my face

i am ~ now ~ complete

to fool

We put on that mask far too frequently, I’m afraid. Be well…

Just so long as you still know it is only a temporary mask, and do not let the role consume you, it’s cool. I know too many who became consumed, and it saddenned me.

Do you always wonder if it is starting to grow on you nd change you from who you want to remember to be, like I do?

Powerful and ambiguous 🙂 Should we be on guard and be wary? A smart woman who knows the power of her charms can be quite interesting 😉

Kim, this is so sad to me. I feel the need to send you hugs 🙂

this piece has garnered a lot of interesting feedback – i had to attend a municipal meeting for a client. I had to get dressed up, of which i rarely, if ever, get the chance to do. i actually enjoy these meetings, but i also feel like i am someone who does not belong there – i do know what it is i am talking about and i am the expert – thus the need for my presence, but i always feel inadequate. ironically, i find it much easier to get up in a room full of people and talk then in front of one person – thus i go back to the days of performing on stage….

    Didn’t see that ending…lovely

thanks – i had to attend a municipal meeting for a client – had to get dressed up:) i do know what i was doing, but there is always that feeling of inadequacy – or at least i get – so i feel as if i am truly playing some sort of role on stage.
