Hush

This is a very, very special piece of inspired and beautiful writing, along with a photograph that inspired me as a young dancer many, many years ago….

Richard M. Ankers - Author

A hush
The dark before the storm
That intake of breath before the hurricane blows
There is nothing, nor no one
Only she, waiting
Standing on tiptoes
Hidden by velvet drapes
Living for that moment
Longing for that second
That release
That exultation
As the spotlights turn on
The anticipation over
And the ballerina
Can finally dance
Freed

Just wonderful…perfect words for this portrait. Do you still dance at all, Kimberly?

No, but I took a class a few years ago. A week before my friend died.
