they are

words

spoken by those who are close

they are

thoughts

emitted from minds who are respected

they are

actions

performed by those who are loved

they are

feelings

inflicted by one’s own sense of self

they are

engraved

deep within the bowels of one’s psyche

they can

be constructive

they can

be damaging

they cannot

be

forgotten

You may forget exactly what a person said and did … but you never forget how that person made you feel.

    Beautiful Kim 🙂

Thank you:). The feelings never go away. No matter how hard or much you try to mask them.

Sticks and stones may break my bones, but names will never hurt me! That is the biggest lie ever! Words have the power to destroy or build up! So many use them to destroy. The wounds from words can last a very long time. Beautifully written!
