nothing new … really …..

***

the beginning of a new book

a blank sheet of paper

a naked canvas

an empty pot on the stove

the starting line of a race

the first day on a job

putting on a brand new pair of shoes

walking into a newly cleaned house

another first day of another first month of another new year….

***

nothing new

but

*

a year’s debut

*

it’s the moment when the lights are dimmed,

the conductor steps up to the podium,

and

the curtain slowly rises…

let the show begin!

Thanks:) I have to look at this time of year as nothing new. If I do, I panic. Strange – I am headed upstairs to wake the lazy Pee – she is still sleeping and it its 10am!

Nothing really changes, it is just human psychology. Weird!
Really nice poem by the way, I was thinking of writing something similar too and you did it.
    New Year wishes to you!
