i

feel pain

and sadness.

i see moments –

flashes of life lived,

of breaths taken and tears

alongside lonely silence.

trepidation and defiance

leave traces which cannot be erased.

some may see horror, i see my life lived.

      thank you. don’t you find it surprising when a line just happens? i struggled with that one, though the irony is the fact that i have been thinking about seeing my life on my arm for awhile. So, though it precipitated the poem, it ended up concluding it.
