Weekly Pet Challenge – from the beginning

The Beginning of Sydnee Pee
Sydnee Pee became my daughter on March 6, 2005 – adopted from Orphans of the Storm in Riverwoods, IL. She was approximately 16 lbs and 3 months old. Her front right leg had been removed 5 days prior. By the end of the year, she was full-grown at 55lbs.

Playing stick with a little 7-year-old Peyton.
Syd grew very rapidly. Her body weight doubled within one month.
Picture taken 5 days after becoming part of the family. It is quite obvious that she had big ears, a big paw and a very expressive face.
6 days later, daddy was already a victim to her feminine charms – she claimed her territory!
As Sydnee grew, her ears did some strange things. Droopy one day, straight the next.
(By the way, my couch no longer is my couch and it no longer looks like this!)
Sydnee kept growing…
As Sydnee grew, her body was adjusting to the extra weight and size – she was stumbling quite a lot. Daddy was concerned, had an idea, did some research and contacted the University of Michigan. Syd became a project for the UofM Department of Prosthetics. I cannot say that she liked her new leg all that much, but she provided quite a bit of ‘fun’ subject material.
Sydnee discovered Daddy’s living room couch!
Gotta love the couch!
Sydnee’s first year was full of excitement. She tore up a few pairs of shoes, a bunch of books, a couch cushion, a blanket, countless socks and underwear. She figured out how to escape a crate, took over three couches, one bed, one truck, an SUV and became a full-time employee at daddy’s business. However, the most important thing that happened was she adopted us – her daddy, mommy and brothers.
Come play the Pet challenge – Syd’s loves the company!

I love her ears (and all dogs who have ears like that) — so expressive!

Thank you. I am having fun participating. I thought I would give her a week off of modeling duties, so I dug into the archives – before the days of a digital camera;)
