dawning of darkness

˜

her darkness has always existed

its been around since the dawning of time –

with the eruption of his voice

her innocence fled –

to a place no one could possibly find.

˜

fear resides in this haven

like a torch illuminating a cave.

its flames sustained by suspicion

creating a most impetuous blaze.

˜

there are times when the embers smolder

this is ONLY when her children are near,

when she can feel their love & trust

and

allow the light to wipe away her tears.
