a past dream

once upon a dream…

he stood regal and tall

with strong arms

and

gentle hands

to support my twirls

and

catch my leaps…

leading me

through

 lands

of sweets

and

snow,

wooded forests,

majestic kingdoms,

grand ballrooms,

opera stages,

brightly lit studios

and

every

waking thought.

once upon a dream,

he completed

my pas de deux…

a cavalier to my fairy,

a prince to my princess,

doll maker to my doll,

a hunter to my swan…

he was

my

dream

of

dreams.

And so it goes for those of us who lost a mate to disease. The once vibrant man that was always there to catch me when I fell.

A truly beautiful poem with wonderful imagery, still with a touch of sadness.
