award doings #7

Welcome back to Act 7 of Doings.  I hope the intermission served you well.  (From what I understand, the lobby refreshment stand has some fairly good noshies).

Act 7 is called the Epically Awesome Award of Epic Awesomeness.  Yes, quite an epic title and I must say that I am honored to have been gifted this award of epic proportions by Shaun, whose blog is Looking for reasoning to a complicated worldhttp://prayingforoneday.wordpress.com.

If you have not visited Shaun’s blog, you must stop by – he is a very loving guy, who is inspiring and funny and one of the most caring people I have ever met and I have never actually met him face to face!

The rules for the Epically Awesome Award of Epic Awesomeness are –

  1. Tell 10 epic and/or awesome facts about yourself
  2. Pass along some epic and awesome love to 10 blogs
  3. Let everyone know that they are Epically Awesome
  4. Thank the Epically Awesome person you received your epically awesome love from &
  5. Of course, do not forget to add the Epically Awesome bling to your site!

I have decided to change-up the order a bit – go straight to the Epically Awesome blogs.

Maestro please – cue the trumpet voluntary………

  1. Random and Unheard of – A Blog of Random-ness – http://randomandunheardof.wordpress.com/
  2. Kurt Rees – http://kurtrees.wordpress.com/
  3. Blog It or Lose It! – http://jrosenberry1.wordpress.com/
  4. Pieces – Exposing Emotions – http://nekneeraj.wordpress.com/
  5. lovelyseasonscomeandgo – http://lovelyseasonscomeandgo.wordpress.com/

  9. SYTYCT – http://soyouthinkyoucanthink.wordpress.com/
  10. Raising 5 Kids With Disabilities and Remaining Sane Blog – http://5kidswdisabilities.com/

Please stop by and visit these Epically Awesome Blogs!  I can guarantee that you will see why they are epic and awesome in their own unique ways!

Now it is time for me:

Maestro please – cue the organ (a little Samuel Barber)………………..

  1. I enjoy opera – favorite is Carmen.
  2. My left ‘hook’ is starting to pack quite a punch.
  3. I have run 3 marathons (number 3 was the third leg of my Ironman).
  4. My first pet was a parakeet – Tweety – she was house trained, or maybe I should say cage trained.
  5. As I child I performed in The Nutcracker with Sarah Jessica Parker!  This was way, way, way before her Sex in the City days.
  6. I am a very loyal friend.
  7. Though I have no trouble speaking to strangers, I am a loner.
  8. I have a BFA in Dance from the University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music.
  9. I am not religious, but spiritual. (I will never delve in to the subject of religion on my blog)
  10. I have two different American Indian tribes in my genes – Cherokee from my maternal side and Navajo from my fraternal side.

So, there you have it – 10 Epically Awesome blogs that must be visited, my friend Shaun’s Epically Awesome blog and 10 tidbits about myself.

I would like to close this post in saying that everyone in the ‘sphere is Epically Awesome and I am so thankful to be a tiny part and hang out amongst all of you epically awesome peeps!

Until the next Doings…………………………………

Kimberly xx

I also enjoy opera! Although I tend to lean more in the Wagner direction, Bizet is wonderful! Do you listen to art songs or lieder as well?

and I absolutely love Samuel Barber- his music is very underrated. (Thomas Hampson recorded an incredible album of Barber’s songs, actually. It’s worth a listen if you can find it.)

I enjoy Wagner, too. I am not certain what you mean by an art song. But I would love to find out. I enjoy all sorts of music.

Art songs are generally poetry set to music written by classical (western art music ) composers. 🙂
