no longer

*
someday i will no longer be here;
for you i will no longer exist.
i will have moved forward and onward.
doesn’t matter
really –
for you i will no longer be missed.
*
my face will no longer be seen by your eyes,
my words will no longer be read,
thoughts of me will no longer be present in your life –
not even in the back of your head.
*
– BUT –
*
of all of the things you will no longer possess,
it’s my heart that will hurt you the most –
because
you will come to realize
someday
what you no longer have
is
the heart that loved you the most.

the realization of loss is what hurts the most…

It does. Though it isn’t quite a loss yet, I am afraid it will be.

I do not know – I know I will never stop missing him. Whether he misses me – only time will tell. x

[…] I was inspired to share this poem after reading Amber’s post over at “Normal is the New Boring”. I cannot claim it as my own. Poetry is not one of my strong points. I’ll leave that up to brilliant bloggers like Kimberly at Words for JP. […]
